Clawson: In which communities would you like to hear the DSO perform? Send in your support votes and comment on your favorite venues:
Hello,
I am writing to ask you to vote for Clawson in a DTE Energy contest. We may win a free concert by the Detroit Symphony Orchestra for September 2012.
DTE Energy foundation is sponsoring this contest awarding the concert to the community with the most on line votes. The winner receives the concert, one DSO residency during the upcoming season, a library visit, school visit and more.
Please use the link below to vote and comment on your favorite venue (Clawson). It’s a two-step process. The webpage will ask you to vote for a county (Oakland) and then type Clawson in the comments. Voting ends June 18th. You can vote once or a hundred times.
Clawson would welcome a concert by the Detroit Symphony Orchestra with enthusiasm, cheers, smiles and open arms. Music impacts our personal lives and our community’s ability to grow and thrive. Art, culture, education and recreational opportunities are reasons people choose to remain involved in the life of a city. The DSO concert is an opportunity to expand our creativity, inspire children and adults, provide entertainment and enrich our lives. We are beginning to grow an audience dedicated to cultural arts within our community and a community concert is the stimulus to reach great heights and build in core values of art appreciation.
We are in the beginning stages of building an art and culture community group. The DIA Inside Out program will place five pieces of art in Clawson in the fall. We have an Art & Author Festival scheduled for 8/26/12, 11 am – 5 pm at Hunter Community Center and now accepting submissions for artists, authors and musicians (contact fair coordinator at lisaball@elevatethearts.vpweb.com ro call 248 589 0056. There will be a first meeting for an art & culture foundation on 6/14/12, 7 pm at Hunter Community Center.
We also are promoting a TNT 5 K run (TNT – teens needing teens) as a fundraiser for the autism programs in Clawson and Royal Oak scheduled for Oct 13, 2012. This is the brainchild of a junior in high school – Elizabeth Kurkowski – who volunteers with the autism programs (Clawson Links and Royal Oak Bridges). You can reach Elizabeth at 248 765 1112 for more information.
Thanks for voting.
